Tasting note
Nose
The nose opens with rich complexity; aromas of ripe fruit and sweet malt are prominent, alongside undertones of dark chocolate and a subtle spiciness that comes from the long contact with the oloroso sherry butts.
Taste
On the palette, an elegant symphony of flavours unfolds. Warm toffee and toasted nuts accompany lighter notes of vanilla and honey, while the sherry influence provides a depth of fruity accents.
Finish
The finish is long and full, with a lingering sweetness perfectly balanced by a slightly drying wood influence and a hint of spiciness.
Mannochmore Distillery
Mannochmore Distillery is located in the Speyside region, near Elgin in Moray. Established in 1971, Mannochmore is a relatively young distillery compared to other Speyside distilleries.
A unique feature of Mannochmore Distillery's production process is the sharing of facilities with the neighbouring Glenlossie Distillery. This sharing of resources and staff is unusual and makes the production process more efficient and flexible. Both distilleries use the same water source, the Bardon Burn, and also share their mash tun and washbacks, resulting in a harmonious collaboration and consistent quality in their whisky production.
Mannochmore mainly produces whisky for blends, such as Haig and Dimple. The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which ensures a balanced and refined flavour profile with notes of citrus, flowers, green apple and a subtle hint of spice. The combination of a beautiful location, modern techniques and a commitment to quality makes Mannochmore a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
Signatory Vintage
Signatory Vintage is one of the most respected and recognised independent bottlers in the whisky world. The company was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and is based in Pitlochry, Scotland. Signatory Vintage is known for its impressive collection of single malt and single grain whiskies sourced from various Scottish distilleries.
In 2002 Andrew Symington acquired Edradour Distillery, one of the smallest traditional distilleries in Scotland. This has enabled Signatory Vintage to offer exclusive bottlings of Edradour whiskies alongside their regular independent bottlings.
