Mannochmore 16 years 2008 - 2025 #3 Symington's Choice
Mannochmore 16 years 2008 - 2025 cask no.3 is a Speyside Single Malt from Signatory Vintage's prestigious Symington's Choice series. This whisky got its impressive character from a finish on a 1st Fill Pedro Ximénez hogshead, providing deep sherry notes, spiciness and richness.
Bottled at a bold 54.6% and limited to just 347 bottles, this is a treasure for fans of bold, sherried expressions.
Tasting note
Nose
Deep and intense aromas of raisins, plums, caramel and dark chocolate, with hints of leather and clove.
Palate
Rich and full-bodied with notes of dried fruits, PX sherry, cinnamon, dates and mocha. The sherry influence is prominent but well-balanced by sweet and spicy undertones.
Finish
Long and warming, with lingering notes of spiced cake, chocolate and a subtle oaky nuance that lingers gracefully.
Mannochmore Distillery
Mannochmore Distillery is located in the Speyside region, near Elgin in Moray. Established in 1971, Mannochmore is a relatively young distillery compared to other Speyside distilleries.
A unique feature of Mannochmore Distillery's production process is the sharing of facilities with the neighbouring Glenlossie Distillery. This sharing of resources and staff is unusual and makes the production process more efficient and flexible. Both distilleries use the same water source, the Bardon Burn, and also share their mash tun and washbacks, resulting in a harmonious collaboration and consistent quality in their whisky production.
Mannochmore mainly produces whisky for blends, such as Haig and Dimple. The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which ensures a balanced and refined flavour profile with notes of citrus, flowers, green apple and a subtle hint of spice. The combination of a beautiful location, modern techniques and a commitment to quality makes Mannochmore a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
