Tormore Distillery, founded in 1959 in the heart of Speyside, is celebrated for its elegant and fruity style. Since the takeover by Elixir Distillers in 2022, its heritage has been carefully preserved, with the Legacy Cask Series launched as a preview to the full reintroduction in 2026. Each release is a single cask, matured in ex-bourbon barrels, showcasing the essence of Tormore’s character. This bottling was selected by Hans Bresser and bottled exclusively for Bresser & Timmer – NL.

Tormore Distillery

Tormore Distillery is located in the picturesque Speyside region of Scotland, near the village of Grantown-on-Spey. Founded in 1958, Tormore is one of the younger distilleries in the region, but it has quickly gained a reputation for its high-quality whiskies. The distillery was designed by renowned architect Sir Albert Richardson, resulting in a striking and elegant building that stands out in the landscape.

A unique feature of Tormore is the use of water from the nearby Achvochkie Burn, which contributes to the purity and quality of their whiskies. Tormore whiskies are known for their fruity and floral flavour profiles, with notes of apple, pear, honey and subtle spices.

The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which ensures a balanced and refined flavour. Tormore produces single malts as well as whiskies used in high-end blends, such as Ballantine's. The combination of a beautiful location, traditional techniques and a commitment to quality makes Tormore a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
