Millstone 5 years 2019 - 2024 Heavy Peated Palo Cortado Special No.31

Millstone Dutch Single Malt Whisky is handcrafted in the traditional distillery that is owned and operated by the Zuidam Family. Two generations of experience in distilling of exclusive spirits and a constant search for perfection has led to the birth of this malt whisky.

This malt whisky has an underlying fruity character that is carefully created by the crystal clear wort, long cool fermentation with both brewers and distilling yeast and a slow and gentle distillation before filling it in the best Palo Cortado sherry casks.

Tasting note

Nose

Menthol freshness and smoky with rich and warm undertones. There is an underlying menthol quality to the whisky normally associated with much older whiskies. Together with this menthol quality a balanced campfire smokiness of this peated whisky stands out. This develops into a rich and complex whisky that has a definite lemon and citrus character to balance those campfire
smoky notes.

Taste

Wonderfully balanced. Warm notes of apple and oranges and various other citrus aroma’s balanced with the deep and interesting smokey notes of the peat.

Finish

Long and slightly drying with great complexity.
