Geur

Vol en rijk met rozijnen, gedroogde vijgen en rijpe pruimen. Donkere honing, sinaasappelschil en romige vanille worden gevolgd door pure chocolade, geroosterde amandelen en een warme toets van kaneel.

Smaak

Krachtig en geconcentreerd met donker gedroogd fruit, kersen en gekaramelliseerde sinaasappel. Chocolade, honing en noten worden aangevuld door kruidnagel, nootmuskaat en zwarte peper. Het oloroso sherryvat zorgt voor een volle structuur en een stevige, kruidige diepte.

Afdronk

Lang en verwarmend met rozijnen, cacao en geroosterde noten. Kaneel, peper en kruidig eikenhout blijven achter naast een aanhoudende toon van donkere honing.

M&H Distillery, short for Milk & Honey, was founded in Tel Aviv in 2013 and is regarded as Israel’s first whisky distillery. Its founders set out to combine international whisky traditions with the climate, ingredients and innovative spirit of their own country. Dr Jim Swan, a leading specialist in whisky production and maturation in warm climates, was brought in to help develop the distillery. His work included advising on the layout, copper stills and the character of the spirit.

M&H produces single malt whisky from malted barley and uses double distillation in copper pot stills. The Mediterranean climate, with around three hundred days of sunshine each year, accelerates interaction between spirit and oak while also causing a high rate of evaporation. Alongside maturation in Tel Aviv, the distillery places casks in several of Israel’s climate zones, including the desert, the mountains and the area surrounding the Dead Sea.

Bourbon, sherry, wine and experimental casks allow M&H to explore a broad range of styles. Its whisky is often characterised by ripe fruit, honey, vanilla, spice and a clear yet well-balanced cask influence.
