Tasting Notes

Colour

Bright golden yellow with a fine, even mousse.

Aroma

Refined and open aromas of apple, pear, and citrus, followed by brioche, gentle nuttiness, and a subtle hint of spice.

Taste

Dry and balanced with juicy white fruit, fresh acidity, and a soft, creamy texture. The wine shows good structure and a precise, harmonious feel.

Finish

Medium to long, clean and elegant, with a dry and refined finish.

Food Pairing

Well suited to seafood, refined fish dishes, poultry, or lighter dishes with creamy elements. Also enjoyable on its own when a more contemplative Champagne is desired.

Producer

Ernest Rapeneau is a historic Champagne house with a long-standing tradition of producing classic, balanced wines. Working with grapes from high-quality vineyards, the house focuses on finesse, consistency, and an accessible expression of Champagne.

Ernest Rapeneau

Champagne Ernest Rapeneau was founded in 1901 in Hautvillers, a historic village in the Champagne region. After the boundaries of the appellation were established in 1927, the house focused entirely on Champagne. The official recognition of Champagne as an AOC in 1936 allowed the family business to grow further. In 1965, Ernest Rapeneau passed the house to his sons François and Bernard. Later generations continued the family tradition while modernising production.

The house works with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from a large number of crus across the Champagne region. This broad range of origins offers considerable freedom when composing the cuvées and helps maintain a recognisable style over time. Ernest Rapeneau is known for approachable Champagnes that combine freshness, ripe fruit, a fine mousse and balanced structure. The wines are classic in character, easy to enjoy and suited to a wide range of occasions. Ernest Rapeneau remains faithful to a traditional Champagne style, with a clear focus on balance and consistent quality.
