Description

Ernest Rapeneau Blanc de Noirs

The Ernest Rapeneau Blanc de Noirs is an expressive Champagne with added structure and depth, made exclusively from black grapes. Compared to a Blanc de Blancs, the style is fuller and riper, yet remains balanced thanks to fresh acidity and a refined mousse. A Champagne with clear character and warmth.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Bright golden yellow with a light copper hue and a fine, even mousse.

Aroma

Rich and inviting aromas of ripe apple, pear, and red fruit, complemented by brioche, gentle spice, and a subtle toasted note.

Taste

Full and rounded with ripe fruit, soft acidity, and a creamy texture. The wine shows more body and structure, while remaining elegant and well defined.

Finish

Medium to long, harmonious and lightly spicy, with a clean, dry finish.

Food Pairing

Pairs well with poultry, veal, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, or refined dishes with a bit more richness. Also enjoyable on its own when a fuller Champagne style is preferred.

Producer

Ernest Rapeneau is a historic Champagne house with a long tradition of producing classic, well-balanced wines. The estate is known for its careful blending and a style that brings together structure, finesse, and approachability.

Ernest Rapeneau

Champagne Ernest Rapeneau was founded in 1901 in Hautvillers, a historic village in the Champagne region. After the boundaries of the appellation were established in 1927, the house focused entirely on Champagne. The official recognition of Champagne as an AOC in 1936 allowed the family business to grow further. In 1965, Ernest Rapeneau passed the house to his sons François and Bernard. Later generations continued the family tradition while modernising production.

The house works with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from a large number of crus across the Champagne region. This broad range of origins offers considerable freedom when composing the cuvées and helps maintain a recognisable style over time. Ernest Rapeneau is known for approachable Champagnes that combine freshness, ripe fruit, a fine mousse and balanced structure. The wines are classic in character, easy to enjoy and suited to a wide range of occasions. Ernest Rapeneau remains faithful to a traditional Champagne style, with a clear focus on balance and consistent quality.
