Lanson Le Black Création
Le Black Création has aromas of fresh sour fruit, along with flavours of pear, apple and citrus. Later, notes of freshly baked pastry also emerge. The palate is generous, in which apples and pears emerge, along with notes of fresh citrus fruit. Maturity is reflected in notes of brioche and dried fruit.
Each Création, numbered according to the number of blends made since it was founded in 1760, is unique, but always in the iconic, fresh and elegant style for which Lanson is famous. The grapes for Le Black Création come from several crus, mainly grands and premier crus. The champagne is made using the méthode traditionelle, with the second fermentation in the bottle. Unlike many other champagne houses, the base wine undergoes little to no malolactic fermentation. After fermentation, the wine matures for at least four years sur lattes, which is considerably longer than the mandatory minimum maturation. Le Black Création Brut has a dosage of 8 g/l.
All information about the specific création can be seen via the QR code on the label: the percentages of the blend, the cru, the proportion of reserve wines, percentage with and without malolactic fermentation etcetera.
Lanson
Established in 1760, Champagne Lanson is one of the oldest champagne houses in Reims. The house has an impressive history, a beautiful building with state-of-the-art wine cellar and extensive corridor system where more than a million bottles of champagne are aged. The oldest bottle you come across in the corridor system is from 1904. Lanson also has four modern press houses close to the vineyards, where the grapes can be processed immediately after harvest to ensure optimum quality.
The champagnes are of very high quality, and are made in a unique, fresh and elegant style. The grapes come from around 100 crus, 50% of which are from grands crus and premier crus, the best parts of the Champagne region. Unlike many other champagne houses, the base wine has undergone little or no malolactic fermentation, creating the distinctive fresh style. Moreover, Lanson's champagnes age for years (at least four years), which is significantly longer than the minimum requirement for champagne. This creates the perfect fine bubble, complexity and elegance in the wine.
