Château Montifaud

Château de Montifaud is a family-run estate that has been producing cognac since 1837. Founded by Augustin Vallet, it is now managed by the sixth generation, Laurent and Élodie Vallet. The estate covers around 125 hectares of vineyards, mostly located in the Petite Champagne cru, renowned for its chalky soils that yield elegant and complex eaux-de-vie.

Montifaud controls every stage of production in-house, maintaining a strong artisanal approach. They distill on the lees, which gives their cognacs extra richness and depth, and dilute their eaux-de-vie very gradually to preserve the natural fruit and floral aromas. A unique family tradition is that with each new birth in the family, part of that year’s distillation is set aside, only to be released by future generations. This blend of heritage, craftsmanship, and patience makes Château de Montifaud a standout name in the world of cognac.
