Arran Sherry Cask The Bodega

The Arran Sherry Cask is a delicious whisky from the Isle of Arran, located between the Lowlands and Campbeltown. This whisky is bottled by the distillery itself. The Arran distillery is one of the youngest distilleries in Scotland, having only opened in 1995. Arran whisky is known for its fresh and fruity character, which is partly due to the distillery's location on the coastline. The climate and influence of the sea create unique flavours in the whisky.

Tasting note

Nose

A complex symphony of sweetness with dark chocolate leading the way, supported by an orchestra of ginger and elegant wood notes. Fruity notes of ripe figs and sweet cherries complete the aroma which is enriched by the influence of the sherry cask.

Taste

The attack is a sumptuous combination of dry fruit flavours, mixed with spicy accents that form the core of this malt. The richness of dark chocolate predominates, enriched by subtle notes of ginger and warming spices that add depth and complexity to the experience.

Finish

A long, satisfying finish, in which the spiciness slowly subsides and gives way to a sweet, delicate vanilla and oak aftertaste. This aftertaste lingers and provides an elegant finish.

Arran Distillery

Arran Distillery is located in Lochranza, on the picturesque island of Arran on the west coast of Scotland. Founded in 1995 by Harold Currie, a former director of Chivas Brothers, the distillery was the first legal distillery on the island in over 150 years.

A specific feature of Arran Distillery is the purity of its whisky, thanks to the use of water from the nearby Loch na Davie, one of the purest water sources in Scotland. The distillery produces a wide range of single malt whiskies, known for their fruity and creamy character, with notes of apple, pear and vanilla.

Arran uses traditional production methods, including copper pot stills and a slow distillation process, which contributes to the quality and complexity of the whisky.
