Arran 15 years Rare Batch French Oak - Grand Cru Casks is a rare and refined expression from the Lochranza distillery, matured for a total of 15 years. After an initial 7 years in ex-bourbon casks, it underwent an extraordinary 8-year finishing period in French oak Grand Cru casks previously used for prestigious white wines from northeastern France. The result is a whisky of remarkable depth and grace, where Arran’s fruity spirit meets the elegance of fine French oak.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Delicate and aromatic with notes of apple, peach and orange zest intertwined with vanilla and gentle oak. Subtle hints of brioche, almond and white grape evoke the character of fine white wine.

Palate

Smooth and rounded with rich flavours of citrus, vanilla brioche and honey. The texture is creamy and oily, revealing layers of ripe apple, caramel and dark chocolate. The French oak adds refined spice and light tannins, bringing balance and structure to the sweetness.

Finish

Long and elegant with lingering notes of fruit, vanilla, oak and a delicate touch of maraschino cherry. A beautifully harmonious ending.
