King Cask Thalassa Islay 5 years PX Quarter Cask Dynamic Aged

Three friends, one passion: special spirits and the sea. What started as a shared hobby soon grew into King Cask. "The sea is in our blood - we grew up with it, we work on it, live close to it and spend our free time there."

The bottlings bottled under the King Cask series are aged in a special way. "Dynamic aged" as they call it themselves. The ship the Thalassa sails the world and on top of the deck are whisky casks. So this is where the burning sun hits during the day, the cold sea breeze at night, and the waves crash over the casks. All this together ensures that the whisky receives a very active maturation in their chosen casks on the ship.

King Cask is all about honesty and authenticity. No chill filtration, no colouring, but pure single cask bottlings with their own story and character. Raw, honest and inseparable from the sea - exactly how spirits are meant to be.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Deep notes of raisins, figs, and the honeyed sweetness of PX, interwoven with salty sea air and a touch of smoke.

Palate

Full and creamy, with layers of caramel, dark chocolate, treacle, and a hint of sea salt, carried by gentle peat.

Finish

Long, warming, and intense, with fruity sweetness, spicy undertones, and a lingering smoky maritime character.
