Nose

Deep and rich with caramel, vanilla and mature oak. Caramelised orange peel, allspice and gentle baking spices add warmth and complexity.

Palate

Full and slightly creamy with butterscotch, caramel and sweet vanilla. Cinnamon, cloves and peppery rye spices are complemented by leather, a touch of tobacco and firmly toasted oak.

Finish

Exceptionally long and warming with caramel, spicy rye and mature oak. Orange peel, tobacco and warming spices remain powerful yet balanced.

WhistlePig is an American whiskey brand from Shoreham, Vermont, devoted almost entirely to rye whiskey. Its story began in 2007, when entrepreneur Raj Bhakta purchased a former dairy farm. Together with experienced distiller Dave Pickerell, who had spent many years at Maker’s Mark, he began searching for rye of exceptional quality. This led to the launch of WhistlePig 10 Year Old in 2010, made with carefully selected, well-aged Canadian rye whiskey.

While the early releases were built around sourced whiskey, WhistlePig developed the farm into a distillery of its own. Distillation in Vermont began in 2015. The ambition extends from grain to glass: rye grown on the farm, water from its own well and locally sourced Vermont oak all play an important role in releases such as FarmStock.

WhistlePig is known for powerful, spicy rye with notes of caramel, vanilla, fruit and oak. Alongside the classic 10 Year Old, the range includes older expressions, distinctive cask finishes and limited releases such as The Boss Hog. WhistlePig has therefore become one of the leading names in the modern revival of American rye whiskey.
