Suntory, one of Japan's oldest and most prestigious whisky producers, was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. He opened Japan's first commercial whisky distillery, Yamazaki, located on the outskirts of Kyoto. This location, with its pure water sources and ideal climate, was carefully chosen for its perfect conditions for whisky production.

Suntory later expanded with the Hakushu Distillery, located in the southern Japanese Alps, known for its fresh and light whiskies, influenced by the region's mountainous climate and pure spring water. Suntory's whiskies, such as the Yamazaki and Hakushu single malts, also as the iconic Hibiki blend are known worldwide for their refined and complex flavour profiles.

Suntory whiskies are characterised by an exceptional balance of flavours, often with notes of fruit, flowers, and subtle spices, combined with the influence of Japanese Mizunara oak casks that add a unique character. Suntory's commitment to craftsmanship and innovation has placed the company at the forefront of the global whisky industry, and their products are considered masterpieces of Japanese distilling art.
