Yuza Distillery

Yuza Distillery is located at the foot of sacred Mount Chokai in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, an area known for its breathtaking natural beauty and pure water sources. Founded in 2018 by a.k.a. Bay Holdings, Yuza is one of the newest distilleries in Japan, but has quickly gained a reputation for its dedication to artisan craftsmanship.

A unique feature of Yuza Distillery is its use of locally grown barley and pure mountain water from the Chokai region, which contributes to the exceptional quality of their whisky. The distillery combines traditional Japanese production methods with innovative techniques, including maturing whisky in a variety of casks, such as ex-bourbon, sherry and Japanese Mizunara oak casks, to develop rich and complex flavours.
