Kanosuke Distillery is named in honor of my grandfather, Kanosuke Komasa, who released Japan's first cask-aged Shochu "mellowed kozuru" in 1957.

Kanosuke Distillery overlooks Japan's longest sand beach, a beautiful, white strip that stretches as far as the eye can see. The East China Sea is calm in the summer but the fierce winter winds whip up the sea waters occassionally making for a unique climate within the warm Kagoshima Prefecture.

This makes for a richer, mellower Japanese whisky with flavours and aromas of Orangette, Cinnamon Sugar and Salted Caramel.
