Résonance Vineyard Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir 2013
Résonance is the first overseas project of the esteemed Burgundy house Maison Louis Jadot. They chose Willamette Valley in Oregon, and more specifically the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, one of the region’s most celebrated subzones for Pinot Noir. Oregon has built a strong reputation for elegant, terroir-driven Pinot Noirs that bridge the gap between the Old and New World. The Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013 is a pure and refined wine, beautifully matured and deeply expressive of place and vintage.
Tasting Note
Nose
The nose is subtle and complex, with aromas of cherry, rose petals, dried herbs, and a hint of forest mushroom. Earthy, spicy, and elegant, with a clear Burgundian signature.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is finely structured with silky tannins and vibrant acidity. Flavors of red fruit like raspberry and cranberry are joined by notes of black tea, damp leaves, and a touch of clove. Delicate yet profound.
Finish
The finish is long, earthy, and mineral-driven, with lingering freshness and a soft, almost saline touch. A wine of class, quiet strength, and excellent aging potential.
Résonance
Résonance was founded in 2013 when Louis Jadot, one of Burgundy’s most traditional producers, ventured to Oregon for a new project. They discovered an old vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton, planted in the 1990s on ancient marine sediment soils, in a cool-climate site ideal for Pinot Noir. Under the guidance of legendary winemaker Jacques Lardière – long-time director at Jadot – Résonance practices minimal intervention winemaking with deep respect for grape, soil, and nature. The wines blend the precision and finesse of Burgundy with the vibrancy and power of Oregon. The 2013 is their inaugural vintage: layered, understated, and a perfect introduction to the house’s philosophy.
